Hi @all,

as there are to many controllers out there now and the old Firmware update request form gets more and more a pain I tried to get that done a bit easyer. Having the required numbers may also get you in trouble some times, so I think I found a system that will help us all getting the updates done much easyer.

So how we are going to do that?

First we delete the old form and forget that it was ever there. big grin

Second we create a new system that will handle our needs. Starting from right now the firmware update is handled over your forum profile!

You will find in your Profile a new field called Hardware description. Here you can save the required data that is needed for a firmware update request.

If we want such a system to work we also need to put up some rules. This means you can’t write I have a MCU Update with serial 123 in there. The data provided needs to have a defined format. This format looks like:

Controller:serial:Gotokey:IntellyTrackkey;

Controller can be:

MCU = MCU Update
LF = LittleFoot
LFVP = LittleFoot Vpower
LFE = LittleFoot Elegance

If you do not have the Goto- or Intellytrack key write a 0 in the field.

For example having the MCU Update with serial 123 and no keys you write in the description field:

MCU:123:0:0;

So now shurly the qurstion arrise what should I do if I have more then one controller?

The answer is simple, just add the additional controllers to the end of the line. For example if you have a additional LittleFoot Elegance controller with the serial 234 and goto 345 and IntellyTrack 456 the line will look like:

MCU:123:0:0;LFE:234:345:456;

Do not forget to save these values in your profile!

Ok, but how to get the firmware now?

At the bottom of your profile you will find a line that will hold your previous saved values and a button to request the firmware. You can modify that line if you do not want to request a firmware for all of your saved controllers.

Just click on request and you will get the firmware send by email to the adress saved in your forum profile. Make also shure that your real name is set correctly in your profile as it is part of the firmware licence!

I hope this new system will save us all a lot work and updates are done by a single click!

da inzwischen einfach zu viele Steuerungen da draußen sind und das alte Formular für Firmwareupdates mehr und mehr zur Qual geworden ist habe ich versucht dies einfacher zu machen. Die nötigen Nummern zur Hand zu haben hat euch vielleicht auch schon ein Problem bereitet und so denke ich, dass ich ein System gefunden habe das es uns allen einfacher macht.

Wie wollen wir das also anstellen?

Als erstes löschen wir das alte Formular und vergessen das es je existiert hat. big grin

Als nächstes erstellen wir ein System das unseren Bedürfnissen gerecht wird. Ab sofort werden Firmwareupdates über euer Forenprofil abgewickelt!

In eurem Profil findet ihr hierzu ein Feld mit der Bezeichnung Hardwarebeschreibung. Hier könnt ihr die Daten speichern die ihr für ein Firmwareupdate benötigt.

Wenn wir wollen das so ein System funktioniert, müssen wir natürlich ein paar Regeln aufstellen. Das heißt ihr könnt nicht einfach, ich habe ein MCU Update mit der Seriennummer 123 da rein schreiben. Die Daten müssen in einem definierten Format vorliegen, welches so aussieht:

Steuerung:Seriennummer:GotoKey:IntellyTrackKey;

Steuerung kann sein:

MCU = MCU Update
LF = LittleFoot
LFVP = LittleFoot Vpower
LFE = LittleFoot Elegance

Wenn ihr keinen Goto- oder IntellyTrackkey besitzt, schreibt 0 in das Feld.

Wenn ihr zum Beispiel ein MCU Update mit der Seriennummer 123 und keine Keys besitzt schreibt ihr in die Zeile:

MCU:123:0:0;

Jetzt kommt sicher gleich die Frage, was tun wenn ich mehr als eine Steuerung besitze?

Die Antwort ist einfach, fügt die weiteren Steuerungen einfach am Ende der Zeile hinzu. Wenn ihr also z.B. zusätzlich eine LittleFoot Elegance mit der Seriennummer 234, Goto 345 und IntellyTrack 456 besitzt, sieht der Eintrag wie folgt aus:

MCU:123:0:0;LFE:234:345:456;

Vergesst nicht die Daten in eurem Profil zu speichern!

Ok, aber wie komme ich jetzt an die Firmware?

Am Ende eures Profils findet ihr eine Zeile die eure zuvor gespeicherten Daten und einen Button für das Firmwareupdate enthält. Die Daten könnt ihr natürlich noch mal ändern falls ihr nicht für alle Steuerungen ein Update anfordern wollt.

Wenn ihr nun auf den Button Beantragen klickt wird die Firmware an die in eurem Profil gespeicherte eMail Adresse gesandt. Stellt bitte auch sicher, dass der Eintrag realer Name korrekt ist, denn dieser Eintrag ist Bestandteil eurer Firmware Lizenz!

Ich hoffe das neue System spart uns eine menge Arbeit und Updates erledigen sich mit einem Klick!

as the new LittleFoot Elegance Photo needs a way for upgrades too, I expanded the Firmware Updateengine for this controller. cool

Controller can now be:

MCU = MCU Update
LF = LittleFoot
LFVP = LittleFoot Vpower
LFE = LittleFoot Elegance
LFEP = LittleFoot Elegance Photo

For the LittleFoot Elegance Photo you can enter 0 in the Goto and IntellyTrack fields as this controller do not have such keys. For sure all updates will stay free of charge. sly wink

da die neue LittleFoot Elegance Photo auch eine Möglichkeit für Updates braucht habe ich die Firmware Updateengine um diese Steuerung erweitert. cool

Steuerung kann jetzt sein:

MCU = MCU Update
LF = LittleFoot
LFVP = LittleFoot Vpower
LFE = LittleFoot Elegance
LFEP = LittleFoot Elegance Photo

Bei der LittleFoot Elegance Photo könnt ihr 0 in die Felder für Goto und IntellyTrack eintragen da diese Steuerung keine solchen Keys besitzt. Natürlich bleiben alle Updates kostenlos. sly wink
