Hello Starfriends,

after the last not so agreeable announcement it is time for something pleasing. The new LittleFoot Elegance Photo Firmware V5.82.5.52.1.10 is released and attends with a lot novelties. Self-evident the new Software is again FREE OF CHARGE!

As you can see at the Firmwareversion the new Firmware is a really sweeping blow and the list of new features is long.

What is new in the V5.82.5.52.1.10 Firmware?

Usage of the Encoders as digital setting circles

The Encoders can be used as digital setting circles and you have access to the large internal object catalogue.

Polar Align

Polar Align is supposed to help you to polar align your mount. The long scheiner process is omitted and replaced by a short goto routine. A full description of this feature is available in the User manual.

Temperature display of the motor drivers

The always build in temperature sensor of the controller is now supported by the firmware.

Support of the Tiny Interfaces

The Tiny Interface support offers a lot new possibilities and already now we have a lot extended functions that are realized by the Tiny Interface. Including f.e.:

Measurement of the outside temperature
Humidity measurement
Dew Point calculation
Dew Heater control
Cloud Sensor connector
Temperature compensation under RoboFocus
Support of the Robofocus relais

All functions are usable remotely or over the Display as well!

Permanent display of the help screens

As wished by the members you can now show the help screen permanently

Optimization of the Ethernet interface

The Ethernet interface was optimized and the collaboration with the Videoprocessor gets improved.

Miscellaneous protocol enhancements for the ASCOM Driver

For the upcoming ASCOM driver the serial protocol was enhanced. Almost all functions are now available remotely and can be used from any PC application over the ASCOM interface.

Automatic save of the changed settings

Another point of the wish list of our users is fulfilled. Settings are saved now automatically and the usage of Save presets is not needed any more. (The menu entry is for compatibility still there.)

All Mount parameters (Stepangle, Gearratio, Wormwheel) are loaded into the mount parameter editor at startup and will be used as default.

Also this point on the wish list of the LFE Photo owners is implemented in the current firmware.

Inverse Mode for the Display

You can now switch the Display to the inverse mode what result in red letters on black background.

Support of a Filterwheel

This is a Tiny Interface extension as well. The interface supports the protocols SBIG, True Technology, OES and DFM Engineering. Each filter can be named by a meaningful name and you can select the filters over the display as well. Even the control of the filter wheel remotely is possible over the True Tech. Protocol. The protocol conversion to a different filter wheel protocol is done by the Tiny Interface.

Enhancement of the LX200 protocol

The LX200 protocol was enhanced with many command. You can now work with the build in RTC device remotely and many other functions are now accessible remote as well.

King Rate

Starting now you can activate the King Rate to compensate the atmospheric refraction.

Many small enhancements to all MCUs

A lot small enhancements have been implemented to all MCUs and the overall system is running now even more stable.

I think a lot came together again and it paid off to jump into this DIY Project. Many thanks to all who expressed their wishes and I'm looking forward to more features that you like to be implemented. There is no other project out there where it is so easy to incorporate your own needs and make the telescope control to what YOU DESIRE!

nach der letzten weniger erfreulichen Ankündigung ist es Zeit für etwas erfreulicheres. Die neue LittleFoot Elegance Photo Firmware V5.82.5.52.1.10 ist freigegeben und wartet mit einer ganzen Reihe Neuheiten auf. Selbstverständlich ist die Software wieder KOSTENLOS!

Wie ihr der Firmwareversion entnehmen könnt ist die neue Firmware ein richtiger Rundumschlag geworden und die Liste der neuen Features ist lang.

Was ist neu in der V5.82.5.52.1.10 Firmware?

Nutzung der Encoder als Digitale Teilkreise

Die Encoder können nun als Digitale Teilkreise verwendet werden und dabei habt ihr Zugriff auf den riesigen internen Objektkatalog.

Polar Align

Polar Align soll euch bei der Polausrichtung helfen. Das lange Einscheinern der Montierung entfällt und wird hier mittels Goto erheblich verkürzt. Eine genaue Beschreibung dieser neuen Funktion entnehmt bitte dem neuen Benutzerhandbuch.

Temperaturanzeige der Motortreiber

Der schon immer vorhandene Temperatursensor in der Steuerung wird jetzt auch Firmwareseitig unterstützt.

Unterstützung des Tiny Interfaces

Die Anbindung des Tiny Interfaces eröffnet viele neue Möglichkeiten und schon jetzt gibt es eine ganze Reihe Zusatzfunktionen die über das Tiny Interface realisiert wurden. Hierzu gehören z.B.:

Außentemperaturmessung
Luftfeuchtemessung
Taupunktberechnung
Taukappenheizungssteuerung
Wolkensensor Anschluss
Temperaturkompensation unter Robofocus
Unterstützung der Robofocus Relaisausgänge

Auch Firmwareseitig sind alle Funktionen ferngesteuert oder über das Display benutzbar!

Dauerhafte Anzeige des Hilfebildschirms

Wie von den Mitgliedern gewünscht lässt sich der Hilfebildschirm jetzt dauerhaft einblenden.

Optimierung der Ethernet Schnittstelle

Die Ethernetschnittstelle wurde optimiert und die Zusammenarbeit mit dem Videoprozessor verbessert.

Diverse Protokollerweiterungen für den ASCOM Treiber

Für den demnächst erscheinenden neuen ASCOM Treiber wurde das serielle Protokoll erweitert. Nahezu alle Funktionen sind nun auch ferngesteuert benutzbar und können über ASCOM in PC Applikationen eingebunden werden.

Automatisches Speichern der veränderten Einstellungen

Ein weiterer Punkt auf der Wunschliste der Anwender wurde realisiert. Einstellungen werden jetzt automatisch gespeichert und Save Presets braucht es nicht mehr. (Der Menüpunk bleibt zur Kompatibilität aber erhalten.)

Aktuelle Montierungsparameter (Stepangle, Gearratio, Wormwheel) werden beim starten geladen und als Default für den Montierungsparametereditor verwendet.

Auch dieser Punkt stand auf der Wunschliste der LFE Photo Besitzer und wurde in der vorliegenden Firmware umgesetzt.

Invers Mode für das Display

Das Display kann nun in den Invers Mode umgeschaltet werden, also rote Schrift auf schwarzem Hintergrund.

Filterrad Support

Auch dies ist eine Tiny Interface Erweiterung. Das Interface unterstützt die Protokolle SBIG, True Technology, OES und DFM Engineering. Jeder Filter kann mit einem aussagekräftigem Namen benannt und auch vom Display aus angefahren werden. Auch Remote lässt sich das Filterrad über das True Tech. Protokoll steuern. Die Protokollumsetzung auf ein anderes Filterradprotokoll übernimmt dabei das Tiny Interface.

Erweiterung des LX200 Protokolls

Das LX200 Protokoll wurde um viele neue Befehle erweitert. So kann der RTC Baustein und viele andere Funktionen nun auch remote eingestellt und verwendet werden.

King Rate

Ab sofort läßt sich die King Rate zur Kompensation der atmosphärischen Refraktion aktivieren.

Diverse kleinere Optimierungen in allen MCUs

Viele kleinere Optimierungen sind in allen MCUs eingeflossen und das Gesamtsystem läuft noch stabiler.

Ein neues 120 seitiges deutsches Benutzerhandbuch

Ich denke da ist wieder einiges zusammen gekommen und es hat sich gelohnt auf dieses Selbstbauprojekt zu setzen. Vielen Dank an alle die ihre Wünsche geäußert haben und ich freue mich schon auf weitere Features und Wünsche die ihr gern implementiert haben möchtet. Bei keinem anderen Projekt ist es so einfach die eigenen Bedürfnisse einfließen zu lassen und die Teleskopsteuerung zu dem zu machen was IHR EUCH WÜNSCHT!
